After the Bank of America layoffs were announced, many wondered if jobs in Jacksonville would be affected.

The bank said that a restructuring plan to offset major losses will result in the trimming of 30,000 jobs.

The addition of two $10 million cranes is expected to bring hundreds of new shipping and transportation jobs in Jacksonville.

This cranes arrived this week at the Jacksonville Port Authority’s Blount Island terminal.

The more ships arrive to the port, the more goods can be brought to local stores, which will create more jobs in several sectors.
